1) Call meeting to order (Chris Klaren)

2) Parents present: Steve Murphy, Al Degenhardt, Chris Klaren, Christy Benson, Dana Jensen, Linda Stamp, Steve Davis, Ken Graham

3) Approved minutes of Nov. 1 meeting                          

4) Reports:                

·        Scoutmaster (Al Degenhardt) New scout meeting planning guide implemented, new communication format between scouts and adults is working

·        Secretary ( Steve Davis) no report

·        Treasurer (Dana Jensen) no report

·        Outdoor/activities coordinator  (           )

·        Fishing campout, Backbone, Nov 5-7; 9 scouts, 4 adults, successful event

·        Planet X, Dec 11 (Al) Leave St. Ed’s 11:30a.m., return 6:30 pm, Al Degenhart, Ken Graham driving, Mike Potter furnishing van

·        Christmas mass setup/removal in church basement, Dec 23 and 26 (Dana) Service hours available. Scouts and adults needed.

·        Gift Grab-bag Exchange, Dec 19 Scout meeting, $5-$10 limit, Scouts to bring snacks & drinks

·        Advancement coordinator (Chris Klaren)

·        Advancement activities: 35 merit badges, 4 rank advancements, Tenderfoot – Sean Bartlett, Tristan Hoffman, Mitch Mitchell. 2nd Class- Michael Schmitt. Three scouts transferred from Troop 144.

·        Hawkeye Merit Badge College, Nov 13, 16 scouts, 9 adults, Thanks to Jon Beyer, Kirk Brownson, Al Degenhardt (cook), Craig Drewelow(coordinator), Ken Graham, Dana Jensen (teaching), Chris Klaren, Steve Murphy (teaching), John Musgrave (teaching). 35 Merit Badges, (28 completed, 7 in process)

·        Chaplain (          )  Catholic Awards Mass, Jan 23, 2005, for entire council. Archbishop Hanus to preside. Steve Murphy will coordinate. Assistance needed to help host the event.

·        Training coordinator (                ) no report

·        Equipment coordinator (Ken Boss) no report

·        Fundraising coordinator (Kirk Brownson)

·        Popcorn sales (Kirk Brownson), $2,745, total sales. ($l,803, scout sales, $125 fall festival, $818 take & show). Expect 24% return to troop

·        Wreath sales (Lisa Musgrave) Money due Dec 12, If problems with wreaths, can be replaced. Contact Lisa.

·        Membership coordinator (       ) Steve Murphy will contact Sacred Heart Cub Scout Pack to assist with transition of Webelos to Troop 1

5) Old Business

·        Pancake breakfast at KC hall, Jan 16 (Steve Davis), 8 am to 12 noon , Ten-Twelve workers needed. 6:30am to 1:30pm. Goal $600 for Boundary Waters trip, Assistance needed

·        Troop resource survey (Chris Klaren) 6/28 returned. If copy of form needed, contact Chris or check web site. Return completed forms before Christmas to assist troop in rechartering process.

·        Troop organization (Chris Klaren, Al Degenhardt) Position descriptions and activity duties posted on web site, assignments and appointments for 2005 to be made in Feb/Mar for completion of rechartering process which is April. Contact Chris if interested in any specific position. Adult training available if needed or desired.

·        Boundary Waters ’05 (Steve Murphy) June 18-25, 2005. Chartered bus bid pending.  Swimming merit badge required for trip.

·        Sun Rivers district swim program (Ken Graham),Feb-Apr ’05, Tuesday evenings. Can get swimming (needed for Boundary Waters trip) and lifesaving merit badges. Registration deadline:Jan 2. Positions limited.

·        Trailer Storage (Ken Boss)  Is building trailer storage shed feasible? Steve Davis to research

6) New Business

·        Scout Sunday, Feb 6, 2005, Chair needed to coordinate with Cub Scout representative.

·        Pop can collection: Opportunity of fundraising for Troop. Should we set up regular place & time? What is expected profit? Input appreciated.
