1)Meeting called to order by Steve Murphy

2) Parents Present: Ken Boss, Kirk Brownson, Tom Randolph, Dana Jenson, Steve Murphy, Al Degenhardt, Steve Schmitt, Faye Graham, Steve Davis, Linda Stamp, Andy Mills, Linda Benson, Jim O’Connor

3)Minutes of May meeting approved                             

4) Reports:                

·        Scoutmaster: Canoe campout- Kendallville, Upper Iowa River..

·        Secretary - none

·        Treasurer – no report

·        Outdoor/activities coordinator

·        May 6-8 - Spring Camporee, Black Hawk Park (Al D) – 10 Scouts, 4-5 Adults. Soil & Water Conservation merit badge started. Andy Mills volunteered to be the Soil & Water Conservation merit badge counselor .

·        Canoeing Campout – June 10-12 (Al D) 12 Scouts, 5 Adults, Kendallville, Upper Iowa River. Website has details.

·        July 8-10 Campout cancelled due to Summer Camp conflict.

·        Advancement coordinator

·        Advancement activities (Tom R) 9-10 Merit badges achieved.

·        Chaplain – Jim O’Connor

·        Ad Altare Dei update (Steve M,) Three scouts in progress.

·        Training coordinator

·        Equipment coordinator – Ken Graham

·        Fundraising coordinator – Kirk Brownson

·        Pop can collection fundraiser June 4 (Steve D) – Approximately $150 raised. Next fundraiser will be July 7. Jayhawks and Ravens are responsible.

·        4th of July Clean-up (Steve D, June 2005) Cancelled. Project given to Cedar Valley Catholic Schools

·        Membership coordinator

5) Old Business

·        Boundary Waters- June 18-25 (Steve M) Final meeting is Thursday, June 8, 7:00, St. Ed’s Cafeteria for Scouts and Adults.

·        Summer Camp, July 10-16 (Steve B) Scouts need to check with Dana Jenson to complete payment.

·        New parent orientation held May 15 (Jim O) Future session is anticipated in 2-3 months.

·        Pop Can Fundraiser – July 9, St. Ed’s Parking Lot, 10:00-2:00, Jayhawks & Ravens to coordinate.

6) New Business

·        Sturgis Falls Fundraiser (Steve Murphy)- need volunteers June 25 & 26 to serve beer. Watch e-mail for details and sign-up opportunities. Plan to raise $575 for Scoutmaster fund.

·        Boy Scout Supplemental Insurance – Insurance to cover co-pays and deductibles is $1.58 per person per year. Agreed to purchase for troop.

·        Red caps and shirts (Ken Boss) – If interested in ordering, contact Ken.

7) Announcements

·        Next parents meeting Friday, July 15, 2005, at Camp Ingawanis in conjunction with Troop 1 Potluck. Meeting at 6:00, eat at 7:00. Check website for map to Camp Ingawanis.
