1) Meeting called to order (Steve Murphy)

2) Present:  Linda Stamp, Faye Graham, Steve Davis, Andy Mills, Lisa Musgrave, Chris Klaren, Steve Murphy

3) Minutes of previous meeting approved                      

4) Reports:                

·        Scoutmaster

·        National Jamboree – It is highly recommended to attend next Jamboree which is 100th Anniversary of scouting in 2010

·        Secretary Report - none

·        Treasurer’s Report - none

·        Outdoor/activities coordinator

·        Troop 1 Court of Honor, Aug 7 – Merit badges are being distributed

·        Troop Campout, Aug 12-14 – New site, Bloody Run Creek. Activities included boating on Mississippi, hiking at Pike’s Peak, trout fishing, and coin modifications on train tracks

·        Troop Campout, Camp Courageous, Monticello, Sep 16-18 – Kirk Brownson coordinating, will be a service trip in addition to camp out.

·        Sun Rivers Fall Camporee, Sep 23-25, Troop 1 not attending this year.

·        Camp Ingawanis, Sept 30 – Oct 2, Electronics/Work week-end. See website for details.

·        Advancement coordinator

·        Advancement activities – Chris Klaren, 40 Merit badges earned, New Star Scout (Zach Benson), New Eagle Scout (Gabe Drewelow)

·        Merit Badge College, Nov 5 – Chris Klaren, 15 Scouts registered. Some spots still available. Contact Chris K. if interested

·        Sun Rivers Eagle Orientation, Oct 13. Star and Life Scouts encouraged to attend. Check website for time and location.

·        Chaplain

·        Ad Altare Dei update – Steve Murphy, in progress

·        Pope Pius Award Class being organized for this fall

·        Training coordinator

·        Parent orientation (Jim O)

·        Equipment coordinator

·        Storage shed update – Steve Davis, Scott Jordan has committed to wiring. Awaiting plans to present for final approval of Building & Grounds committee. Contact Steve Davis with names of prospective donors.

·        Fundraising coordinator

·        Pop can collection fundraisers, Aug 6 – 15 bags + bottles (approx $150), Sep 10 – 21 bags + bottles ($200). Next drive is Oct 8, 10:00-2:00. Wolverines & Ravens to staff. Funds split 50/50 between individual scout and troop.

·        Popcorn sales, Sep 24-Oct 28 – Chris Klaren – Order forms to be distributed at Sept 25th Meeting. Funds split 70/30 between individual scout and troop. Kevin Murphy (in abstencia) agreed to coordinate

·        Wreath Sales – Lisa Musgrave – Order forms to be distributed at Sept 25th Meeting, to be returned at end of October with wreaths available over Thanksgiving for distribution. Funds split 70/30 between individual scout and troop.

·        Membership coordinator

·        Membership update – Chris Klaren – Troop 1 has 40 Scouts registered. 25 are Active, 8 are Eagle Scouts. Ways to continue involvement of  senior scouts and how to utilize their expertise were discussed. Options include camping at new sites, and specifically requesting senior scouts to participate in particular activities.

·        TroopMaster 2005 software update – New software has some useful updates, but not enough value for annual licensing fee.  Recommending that it not be purchased at this time.

·        Summer Camp 2006, Camp Phillips in Wisconsin is probable site

·        Next parents meeting Monday, October 3, 2005 at The Upper Deck, food available at 6:30, meeting starts at 7:00 PM
