Troop 1 Parents Meeting

1) Meeting called to order by Steve Murphy

3) Approval of previous meeting minutes – the minutes were approved

4) Reports:                

·        Scoutmaster

·        Secretary

·        Treasurer - Through Dec 4, the troop balance is $10,906.36.  Of this, $4,815.00 is for the storage shed fund, $3641.02 is Scout accounts, $369.44 is Scoutmaster fund, and $2080.90 is troop general fund.  Balances include October popcan drive & popcorn sales, does not include wreath sales or November popcan drive.

·        Outdoor/activities coordinator

·        Troop Campout, Ingawanis, electronics weekend, Nov 18-19.

·        Troop Campout, wild game feed, Camp Ingawanis, Dec 1-3.  10 Scouts, 6 Webelos II’s, varying numbers of adults through the weekend.

·        Santa’s Workshop setup, Dec 17, 8:15 after the Troop Christmas party.  Troop meeting will start at 7:00 PM this meeting only.

·        Winter Swim Program, Jan-Mar2007 – still time to register, see Mike Potter

·        Scout Sunday, Feb 4 – discussion on involving Eagle Scouts.

·        Advancement coordinator

·        Advancement activities – no report

·        Merit Badge University, Feb 17, - register now to get your 1st choices, see Jon Beyer.

·        Chaplain

·        Equipment coordinator

·        Storage shed update – plans to start construction Dec 8-10.  Steve Murphy coordinating.

·        Fundraising coordinator

·        Pop can collection fundraiser, Nov 25 report, next Jan 6 (Steve D)

·        Popcorn sales report - $2900 sales, $2059 paid to the council, profit to be split 70/30 between Scouts & troop.

·        Wreath sales report – wreaths cost the troop $2035.41, waiting for amount sold to determine profit.

·        Flapjackers – Tickets will be available soon, considering selling at HyVee and after mass at St. Ed’s.

·        Membership coordinator
