·
“Iron
Man” patch – The idea of awarding a Troop 1 “Iron Man” patch for Scouts
completing the Cycling, Hiking, and Swimming merit badges was of interest to
the group. Patches seem to be reasonably
priced at approximately $150 for (100) 3.5” diameter patches. 2 preliminary designs were viewed and can be
modified to suit. This will be reviewed
with Scouts at upcoming meetings.
·
Parent
sign-up calendar – Brief discussion regarding having parents volunteer or be
assigned to help with campouts and other troop activities. Jon is working on a format.
·
Campout
planning / permission slips – Some discussion on implementing permission slips
that Scouts would need to return at least one week in advance of each
campout. This would be of great benefit
in determining how much food to purchase and campsites to reserve. Other discussion on potentially combing this
with a “parent commitment” form to identify in advance adults attending the
campout to insure needed levels of leadership.
Francis is working on the form for use at the next campout if possible.
