Very Boy Scout friendly – discounts on all things

Date: August 1, Sunday – August 2, Monday

Leave garage @7:00am, Sunday arrive 9:00am, (2) hour door to river.  Leave trailer, park cars, plan to have shuttle service depart by 9:45am.  Take with us, lunch, drinks, snacks, toilet paper, sunscreen, swim suits.  Arrive back to campground by canoe around 4:00pm.  Stage canoes, one group start the meal, the other start camp setup.  The campground by 3:00pm Sunday will be wide open, the primitive sites are all along the river’s edge looking at a 100ft  lime stone bluff, facing east, the evening will be shaded and the sun will blast of the cliffs in the morning.  Very nice setup for camping.

Wake up, eat big breakfast, tear down site, push off from area around 11:00am, travel pass Bluffton, and plan to be pickup at a staging area 10 miles, 4 to 5 hours downstream.  Take lunch, snacks drinks, and a hidden collection of super soaker water cannons that the adults will bring down on those bratty kids heads.   Shuttle back to campground and prepare to leave for home, but wait, a surprise.  We will travel to Decorah and stop at the world famous Mabe’s Pizza for dinner, we will order as we leave the camp ground and as we arrive 30 min later in Decorah, our pizza and seats will be waiting.  This is only a 15 min drive (30 total) extra so let’s keep the fun train going.  Should be home by 9:00pm latest.

$30 per day, canoe w/ shuttle service
$25 single person kayak (8 units max)per day
Primitive Boy scout camping rate - $3 per kid, $4 per adult or $15 per tent, whichever is cheaper.
Need to buy fire wood there, $5:00 per bundle, ice, water & full shower house also available.

Estimate $70 per person for (2) days afloat, camping, meals, snacks, & drinks.  Need to call by end of month with rental type and totals to help reserve them for that date.  Need to send some money with that reservation to make it solid.
